Thai Purple - Turban-early harvester, one of the first every season

Very pretty blush purple on bulb wrappers, light reddish mahogany clove skins. Light flavor when eaten raw. Consistently produces large bulbs with fat purplish cloves. About 8-9 cloves per bulb.

Turbans are more difficult for us to grow, and therefore a limited supply is available.

*Please note all garlic begins shipping in September. Early orders get shipped first.

Garlic seed is usually planted 4 to 6 weeks before the ground freezes in order to insure good root growth before winter, plant in early October for the North and November through January for the South.

  • Storage: Garlic should be stored in a cool, dry place out of direct light.  Do NOT store in the refrigerator!  Keep in a paper bag or closed cardboard box inside a cabinet in the coolest part of your house.  Garlic will keep drying out the longer it is stored.  This will make it lighter, the bulbs less dense, and even hotter and stronger.  But eventually it will dry out beyond functional use, and may even rot or mold.  Most of our Garlics were fully cured by the end of September, and thus their “shelf life” began.  In prime conditions they should store six months or more.
